H1N1 vaccinations are now available to any person, 6 months or older, wishing to be vaccinated.

Priority groups to receive H1N1 ("swine") flu vaccinations include:

• Pregnant women
• Anyone from 6 months through 64 years of age with certain chronic medical conditions or a weakened immune system.
• People who live with or care for infants younger than 6 months of age
• Health care and emergency medical personnel who have frequent direct patient contact
• Anyone from age 6 months through 24 years of age


SEASONAL FLU INFORMATION

Seasonal flu vaccinations ("flu shots") are now available at District 10 (Athens-area) Health Department clinics (excluding Teen Clinics)

The best defense against seasonal (or H1N1, or "Swine" flu) is to:

  1. Get vaccinated!

  2. WASH YOUR HANDS!

  3. Cover your coughs and sneezes.

  4. Stay home from work or school if you are sick!
