Citizens may also submit a complaint about a possible violation of these laws. Overview of Georgia Smoke-Free Air Act
- Smoking is NOT allowed in restaurants or other businesses that allow persons under the age of 18 to enter
- Smoking MUST be prohibited 24 hours a day/7 days a week in those locations that are required to be smoke-free
- Local ordinances may be stronger than the state act, and place additional restrictions on smoking
- Violations of the act may cost the smoker a minimum of $100, and a maximum of $500
Overview of Athens-Clarke County Ordinance
- Smoking is NOT allowed at anytime in A-CC Bars or Restaurants
- Smoking is NOT allowed at anytime in most workplaces
- Smoking is NOT allowed at anytime in any Athens-Clarke County facility or in any A-CC Park or Recreation Area
